Transfer Cart for Heavy Steel Beams

This battery-powered, remotely operated trackless transfer cart is designed for transporting heavy steel beams. Through an optimized chassis and frame structure, it is capable of carrying materials and steel structures weighing from 1 to 200 tons.

How It Works:
The transfer cart is powered by a battery, which supplies energy to the motor. Once activated, the motor drives the wheels into operation. Commands are sent via the remote control to the cart’s electrical control cabinet, which then directs the vehicle to perform actions such as moving forward, reversing, turning, and even making 360-degree rotations.

This trackless transfer cart was custom-built for a customer in France. Their facility covers a very large area, and transporting steel structures used to be highly time-consuming, often delaying production schedules. Relying solely on forklifts and manual labor proved inefficient—not only was productivity low, but forklifts also had limited visibility and occasionally caused damage to goods. The customer approached us for a solution, leading to the development of the cart shown in the images.

One of the standout features of this equipment is its wheels. Equipped with polyurethane tires, it operates without the need for tracks and can move freely on flat surfaces. The customer’s concrete flooring met the required standards, making it perfectly suitable for this cart. As long as the ground is relatively even, the vehicle can travel effortlessly between different workshops and warehouses. With a loading capacity of several tens of tons, it can transport steel plates, coils, and large equipment in a single trip. For instance, this client regularly handles large metal components. Previously, moving such items required a forklift and 2-3 workers. Now, a single operator with the remote control can complete the task safely and with minimal effort.

The transfercart body is constructed from high-strength steel with thick panels, finished in highly visible and wear-resistant yellow paint. It is fitted with high-power motors and durable rubber tires at the base, providing strong driving force and flexible steering—even in narrow or complex workshop layouts. The battery-powered design supports long continuous operation on a single charge, easily meeting the demands of multi-shift transportation.
